3 Upcoming Events at George Washington University

At George University we just don’t stick to the conventional educational programs, either be an undergraduate or graduate program. With the creation of different events, we try to improve even more the preparation of our future professionals.

In this article are going to be mentioned 3 upcoming events that might be of your interest.

Course Design Institute
This great course by the hand of The University Teaching & Learning Center is a “boot camp” style program to teach a more dynamic and different way to teach others. The course is special for future teachers in order for them to know the benefits of active learning and new ways of teaching as well.

The course has a duration of 4.5 days and everyone is invited to apply. This course starts on Monday, May 22 to Friday, May 26. It has to be mentioned that is all day long but it is worth it of your time.

Preserving Complex Digital Objects to Support Research
Softwares, simulations, and 3D images are complex digital objects that require a lot of knowledge to preserve them and make a good usage of them. Is for that reason this event takes place and is a big help especially for future professionals that will work in this fields.

The event consists in teaching students how to properly preserve these digital objects (mentioned before) as well as potential challenges in the workplace. This event takes place June 28, 2017 – 9:30 to 11:30 am.

Teaching Day
Taking place on September 28, 2017 this event gathers the tops universities in the country to discuss research efforts and achievements. A great honor for the university to be in the eligible rank.

This event is really helpful for students that also want to do researches and make something big. By listening to colleagues experiences you can apply some of them in your own projects.

GW Making History, Part 2

GW Making History is a campaign that demonstrates how George Washington University faculties, staffs, students and alumni have used their relationships and knowledge to show the world what they got and how they can make a history through small and big ways. Everyone from GW is welcome to share and submit their stories on the microsite. Every person who shares his/her story will receive a T-shirt. If you are in the campus, you can get your T-shirt instantly, but if you are from outside the campus, you will also receive a T-shirt via mail.
